Jardim Zoológico de Lisboa

O Jardim Zoológico de Lisboa é um local maravilhoso.

Começou por existir, desde 1884, no Parque de S.Sebastião da Pedreira.

Em 1894 mudou-se para Palhavã onde, actualmente, se situa a Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian.

Em 1905, mais uma vez, mudou para a Quinta das Laranjeiras, Sete Rios, onde se encontra até aos dias de hoje.

É, ao mesmo tempo, um parque zoológico e botânico.

Em 1956, dizia-se que o Zoo era um dos mais belos da Europa.

O arquitecto Raul Lino foi autor de muitas obras lá existentes entre elas "A aldeia dos macacos".

Ao longo dos tempos passou por diversas dificuldades sempre resolvidas positivamente.

Actualmente, notam-se melhorias no que diz respeito ao habitat dos vários animais.

No dia 26 de Janeiro nasceu o primeiro rinoceronte branco, no Jardim, o que o torna uma pequena estrela. Pequena, é como quem diz, pois quando crescer pesará perto de 4 toneladas.

O que se deseja, afinal, é que continue a ser um local de passeio preferido pelas famílias portuguesas.

Mulheres da Nazaré ou Nazarenas

Nazaré, uma vila portuguesa, da qual fazem parte três antigos povoados - Pederneira, Sítio da Nazaré e Praia da Nazaré.

O sítio da Nazaré encontra-se a uma altitude de 110 metros.

Diz a lenda que D. Fuas Roupinho, alcaide de Porto de Mós, se encontrava a caçar neste lugar,  quando viu um veado e foi em sua perseguição sem cuidar que se aproximava  velozmente  do precipício.

No local, havia uma gruta com uma imagem de Nossa Senhora com o Menino.

D. Fuas  vendo o perigo  implorou: Senhora, valei-me! E, logo, o cavalo parou no alto do precipício com tanta força que ficou a marca da sua pata, na rocha. E ainda hoje lá se encontra.

D. Fuas, em memória deste milagre, mandou construir a capelinha da Memória em  14/09/1182.

Para o encanto desta região muito conta o trabalho árduo dos seus habitantes sem esquecer as mulheres da Nazaré e seus trajes garridos com as sete saias, também elas, lendárias. Há várias versões para o uso das sete saias. A mais provável tem a ver com o facto de as mulheres esperarem os seus maridos, pescadores, na praia, sujeitas ao vento e maresia. Assim,  para se protegerem,umas saias cobriam a parte de cima do corpo e as outras as pernas.

Mas também dizem que as sete saias representam as sete virtudes; os sete dias da semana; as sete cores do aro-iris; as sete ondas do mar.

Aloe vera

É conhecida desde  o antigo Egipto, pelas suas propriedades medicinais.
Muito usada como planta ornamental  dada a grande beleza das suas flores.

Castelo de Palmela

A traça primitiva do castelo de Palmela é atribuída aos romanos, sendo mais tarde reconstruido e acrescentado pelos árabes por altura do sec. IX.

D. Afonso Henriques conquistou Palmela em 1147 mas os árabes voltam a recuperá-la. 

Em 1190 volta a ser conquistada.

D.Sancho I, em 1205,  faz reparações na fortaleza e doou-a novamente à Ordem Militar de Sant'Iago .

D.João I  inicia a construção do Convento onde esta Ordem se instala definitivamente a partir de 1423.

Com o terramoto de 1755 toda a estrutura ficou bastante danificada e, ainda com a extinção das ordens religiosas, a fortaleza foi votada ao abandono.

Em 1945 são iniciadas obras de recuperação e é classificado como Monumento Nacional.

No antigo convento funciona, actualmente, uma Pousada. 

Palmela fica muito próximo de Lisboa, cerca de 43 quilómetros. É um agradável passeio, pois os seus arredores são igualmente acolhedores.

Porto das Barcas - Atalaia - Lourinhã

Porto das Barcas é uma pequena praia que pertence ao concelho da Lourinhã.

Além de bom marisco e bom peixe (foi um antigo porto de pesca) tem a curiosidade destas esculturas.

Embora a Primavera ainda esteja longe,já a natureza dá sinais evidentes que ela se aproxima.

Pequenos brotos rompem  suas vestes e enchem de colorido a paisagem. Mesmo os abelhões procuram sofregamente as raras flores que encontram.

É o ciclo que renasce. Tudo bem, portanto.
